No need to Google it. I know you are depressed if you are sad all the time. If you think about suicide at least twice a day, if you lost interest in everything. Sometimes you cry without any reason at all. You cry and you pity yourself. You don't know how to get out of it, how not to be depressed other than getting some antidepressants. but you know the idea of taking a pill and overpowering your feelings by some chemical interference makes you sick.

If you have such signs, then you have depression. Life is full of with problems, but don't think you are in depression, if you collided some problems and you don't feel well. It will pass.... Depression has very strong , typical signs. The worse position of human being, can't be imagined. cry

What can I say about depression? There'r several emotional states or feelings that we can take as depression. When we feel sad at one time or another, weakness, boredom, discouragements, critical self-appraisal and that can be just temporary stress but not depression. These feelings usually pass within a few days or weeks, we get over it in short period of time. But if these feelings are longer , the process causes person to addict to alcohol or drugs, .thoughts of suicide, when deep emotional state interferes with work, school and family. When the connection of reason to the state is lost ,when person likes the condition itself and doesn’t wants to get rid of it; "self-reality", when there's no sence of life that is the hardest stage of depression. dry

As far as I know, depression is da passive variant of anger. As it's passive it's more long-lasting & less changeable. So once I feel I start gettin depressed, I make myself angry instead & then work wit it. Anger is active & passes quick (in my case).

Hmm i like ur reasonin Xenia.. although i've never thought of it that way..
I basically think depression isn't there if you change the outlook at the situation.. coz whatever happens, happens for a reason. depression is like a muddy beast, the more u think about it and feel worse as a consequence, the more u drown in it and feed that depression thing and it goes on like a vicious cycle.. its partly a result of self-pity in my opinion..

like Bob Marley said: In ur life expect some trouble But when u worry u make it double Dont worry be happy

so smile dammit teehee

LALA, hmm, I don't know... maybe. I have never had suicidal thoughts, but I lost interest in everything.
ZARYA, a few weeks? That's not just stress... that's depression itself, I think.
CHICANA_LUV, I never doubted that you are smart. I have read that's one of the ways modern psychologists fight with depression.
BooN, yeah, changing the attitude to the situation helps a lot. smile

How about changing the location like moving somewhere else?

well, in my opinion, depression is when u stop carrying about urslef and things that surround you.
at that point, nothing matters...whether u eat or not, whether u keep urself clean, whether u care what others think or say.
depression is an ugly thing, and thank God that it hasnt affected me in my life.
its very hard to snap out of it, its like being addicted to a drug.....subconciously people in depression will do everything to stay that way.
they will pity themselves, they will let themselves down, and even though they might say that they dont want to be depressed, the thing is, they choose to be.
but if u r depressed, u not only hurting urself, u hurting people around you. Like that commercial on TV says "where does depression hurt? Everywhere....Who does depression hurt? Everyone".
very true, and very ugly.....

And I prefer not to take sides at all.
Depression begins from melancholy or constant state of stess. Sadness, nostalgia, ennui, long awaiting of something or somebody what or who doesn't appear, all these are step No 1 to redoubling and aggravation. Step No 2 often means what are you, guys, calling depression.
Personally, I felt many aforementioned emotions in certain conditions, but I wouldn't call it depression. Most often it is fear, expectation or all-known pangs of nostalgia, nothing else.
In most cases people exaggerate their pain by desiring more pain. We ourselves aggravate our state by not fighting it or fighting with wrong measures. Young people always want to be tragically misunderstood and wallow in self-pity until they are understood and coddled. I find it natural, but too petty.
Feel good, folk! flower

As for me, depression can be treated only by work or the person who can effect your emotions. To speak honestly, I rarely feel depressed and if I do, then it means I need as Montague said, to be understood.... or maybe more love. I never feel any negative emotions with my boyfriend, since he gives the feeling that I am a queen. And thus I really feel happiness - I'm understood and I'm loved. And else I do the things I love. This is my position against depression. up
